1. The Scrunchie Bun
Let’s kick off this list with a super trendy blast from the past: the scrunchie.
Five years ago, I would have never guessed that this iconic 90’s look would be back in our faces…but they’re here, and they’re hotter than ever.
One of my absolute favorite modern scrunchie trends is to pair it with a high bun! It’s adorable and super trendy.
2. Overlapped and Laced
A half-up overlapped/laced hair is a fun way to add a pop of formality to everyday hair. Of course, it’s also great for formal events.
It just adds that little extra something to a basic hairstyle.
Kate from The Small Things Blog brought a lot of attention to these types of hairstyles, so I’m gonna let her show you how they’re done.
3. Half-Up Topknot
I love me some half-up topknots.
This is pretty much my go-to hairstyle these days. It’s so easy to pull off (especially at 5 am before work), and it’s trendy AF. If you have young kids, like me, it’s all about saving time and finding easy styles to recreate at home.
Hairstyles like this are solid gold.
4. Pinned Back On One Side
This no braid hairstyle is so simple yet so powerful…. and it’s soooo easy to pull off. You literally just need to pin back one side of your hair and fasten it up with a bobby pin or clip.
💡TIP: Use pearl hair clips for extra trend points.
This can be done on straight or wavy hair and can be incorporated into both formal and everyday hairstyles. Either way, it lets you wear your hair down with a subtle pop of style.
5. Voluminous Ponytail
I’ve always been a big fan of the classic ponytail. It keeps the hair out of your face and is incredibly easy to do.
But what’s sexier than a glam ponytail full of volume and style? Absolutely nothing, right?

6. Easy Twist Bun
I love this no braid hairstyle because it’s so fancy and formal, but it really only takes a few minutes to put together.

Play around with it. Loosen the ringlets and make the style work for you. My only main recommendation is to strive for balance in the shape of the bun. But of course, that all comes with practice.
7. Hollywood Glam
Glam Hollywood waves are one of my absolute favorite hairstyles of all time. Think red carpet Marilyn Monroe. It’s a timeless look that just screams class.
All you need is a decent curling wand, some no-crease hair clips, and a solid hair tutorial. But have no fear! SS HAIRR‘s gotchu covered!
8. Headband Chignon
This is a really fun way to incorporate a cute scarf or headband into your hairstyle. It’s a super cute no braid hairstyle and looks like it took a lot of work to do (even though it didn’t).

9. Bubble Ponytail
Bubble ponytails are a super fun way to spruce up your hair without the use of braids. Loosely incorporate them into other hairstyles for a very Princess Jasmine-y look, or even go for a sleek bubble mohawk hairstyle to look edgier.

11. Faux Braids
Faux braids are the ultimate no braid hairstyle.
These techniques allow you to create hairstyles that look like they were braided, but by using small ponytails instead.
For example, the “pull-through” braid is done by pulling ponytails through other ponytails. It’s effortless to do but looks impressive when done correctly!

Similarly, you can do a faux fishtail with overlapped ponytails that tuck into each other.
