Such an awesome article Phil Wolffe.Absolutely agree that planning is integral, just so everything runs smoothly and there is no room for hiccups later on. Copying what other organisations are doing is pretty bad too, unless they're investing in HealthNow aha. People need to understand that employee wellness is personalised. Employees need to feel as though they are being supported by having something that they can engage with, therefore, benefiting them. It is great to see that organisations are stepping in the right direction in treating employee wellness as more of a priority and not an after thought, but there is still a lot of work that needs to be done in this space.

Great article! So you're saying if we spend $10 billion on health programs we'll get $20 - $60 billion back? Lets just keep doing that and profit! Nah but seriously, it's been surprising to see how many top-down initiativers, programs and benefits are rolled out without talking to the actual employees across the corpo world. Comms are the most important part, IMO.

Great article Phil Wolffe In particular, love the messages around leaders needing to be involved. Walking the walk as well as talking the talk is such a key step. And it's often our leadership teams who need wellbeing initiatives more than most so it's a win-win! 🏆 💪

Today is a very important day - it's Jersey Day.If you're not familiar with that, now is as good a time as any to find out!Created in the memory of Nathan Gremmo, a young man who was taken far too young, Jersey Day is all about organ donation.Nathan's tragic death at the age of 13 had a silver lining, as he was able to save the lives of others through the gift of organ donation. There are now 6 people who are alive today because Nathan was a registered organ donor and his family followed through with his wishes. So, this Jersey Day, put on your favourite team strip, or the shirt you got for the under 14's second division Summer tennis camp, and start a conversation. There's no need to raise money, just take 2 minutes to register as a donor and let your family know your wishes and you're done.Search Jersey Day 2024 for more info and let's do a bit of good on a Friday!#jerseydayau #donatelife

I get most of my business through LinkedIn and this is what I’ve learned:LinkedIn is not where you sell, LinkedIn is where you build trust so people want to buy from you. This subtle shift transformed the way I approach the platform and drastically boosted my success rate.I now very rarely 'sell' through here.I don't send cold sales DMs and the most you'll ever see from me as a CTM is the occasional line at the bottom of a post saying, "If this sounds like something you're interested in, send me a DM."Instead, I try to give away as much value and information as I can and my content is designed to upskill people (mostly HR) in health and wellbeing. I've made it my mission to help people to set up wellbeing programs, whether for themselves or their organisations, on their own.I want everyone to have the skills and knowledge to be able to do this themselves and do a good job of it.Then, when they get to things they need help with or can't do themselves, they come to me.This is probably not the greatest marketing strategy of all time and I know I'm leaving a lot of money on the table (don't feel too bad for me, I won't starve). But it's the way I enjoy doing it and what helps me to have an impact that extends far beyond just the people who pay me. So, if you have questions about health and wellbeing, or if there's specific content that would help you in your health and wellbeing journey, let me know and I'll answer them/create it.And when you get to things you can't do yourself or need a professional for, I'm here for that too.P.S. If this sounds like something you're interested in, send me a DM.(I couldn't resist). #Linkedin #sales #marketing #humanresources

Things we find time for part 2: (easy) vs things that seem impossible to do regularly (hard):Easy: Scrolling in bed for an hour.Hard: Reading in bed for 10 minutes.Easy: Drinking 5 cups of coffee.Hard: Drinking 5 cups of water.Easy: Spending 20 minutes deciding what food to order and 60 minutes waiting for it to arrive.Hard: Spending 30 minutes cooking a healthy meal. Easy: Spending $16 + $18 + $14 + $11 + $15 + $10 + $19 on streaming services every month.Hard: Spending $80 a month to see a dietitian/physio/physiologist. Easy: Spending 9 hours in the officeHard: Spending 45 minutes in the gym. Easy: Scrolling strangers’ Instagram stories.Hard: Checking in with a friend. I try to remind myself that the things that seem hard are actually not that much harder than the things that I do on autopilot, and they make my life a bunch better and easier. So for me it’s about having the awareness to recognise when I’m doing wasteful things and try to switch to something that’s more productive. It’s hit and miss, but the more I do it the more I hit and the less I miss, so I guess it’s working 🤷♂️ What are some of the things you’re trying to do less/more of?#wellbeing #health #productivity

I’m starting a new thing. It’s called, ‘How can I help you?’ and this is how it works. It's a monthly, or maybe fortnightly (or some other timeframe, I haven't decided yet) post designed to lend a hand. The rules are you post something you need help with, then scan the comments to find someone you can potentially help with their issue. It's mostly business-related (bonus points for HR, people, and wellbeing topics), but anything goes.Need a job? Post about it.Hiring for a job? Maybe you'll find someone here.Have questions about optimising your onboarding experience to create life-long net promoters? I don't know much about that but my network sure does. LinkedIn is a place I often go for help with things and I want to try and lean into that as much as possible. So, let's see how much help we can give each other, startiiiiiinnnnng now.#Humanresources

The most important yet misunderstood tenet of health and wellbeing:Consistency wins, always, eventually. Whether you're someone trying to lose a few kgs or an organisation trying to reverse the trend of burnout, dedication to the activities that the evidence suggests will get you to your goal, will get you to your goal. The biggest mistake we see when it comes to health and wellbeing is that if something doesn't work immediately then it gets scrapped. This is the opposite of what should happen.Instead, pick something meaningful, commit to it, and do it consistently, It's not flashy or sexy but it's nevertheless the way you get from where you are to where you want to be.You'll be surprised what you can accomplish with just a little bit of something everyday, over the course of a lot of days. What's something small you've been doing consistently for yourself or in your organisation that's made a big impact?#humanresources #wellbeing

I F*****g hate running. So I decided to do the Sydney marathon. It’s not to prove anyone wrong. Nobody told me ‘I’d never be able to do it’.There are no obstacles in my way. I’m not overcoming anything and there’s no inspiring story here. I just want to do it to prove to myself that I can do it. I just had my second run on the weekend (because of a calf injury) and the race is just under 4 weeks away. Just wanted to make it public so when I inevitably want to quit around the 6th kilometre I’ll have the public shame and embarrassment of not finishing to spur me on. Wholehearted encouragement and support is always welcome, however I also respond to belittlement and general negativity. Many thanks.#health #wellbeing

You do not achieve ‘health’. Health is something you work at everyday that allows you to live your life in any way you want. A lack of health means a lack of options for how we can spend our time, particularly as we age. This is true of us as individuals, and as parts of larger organisations and communities. A cheat code for building an effective team or business...Surround yourself with people smarter than you, teach them what you know, then watch them take it in directions you never even thought of. This requires humility, an eye for talent, and the ability to trust people.(That might be why it's not as widely utilised as it should be). This has become my business strategy of late and I'm kciking myself for not doing it way earlier! What's something you've started doing that you wish you did years ago??#I'mNotThatSmartButI'mLearning

Insults have become too lacklustre lately.Telling someone to go f**k themselves doesn't have the punch it used to.Plus it's likely to land you in some hot water, professionally speaking. So here's a list of insults you can safely use in the office that will really hit home:- May your tea be too hot when you receive it and too cold when you remember it's there.- I hope you step in a puddle with fresh socks on. - I hope your headphones only work in one ear, and which ear that is changes unexpectedly. - Go stub your toe. - May both sides of your pillow be constantly warm. - I hope your partner suddenly and forever becomes a really loud chewer.- I hope everyone on your route today is a slow walker and changes their walking line everytime you try to overtake them. - Go spill soup on your new shirt.Remember, the key to using these insults is to know your target. So find out more about your co-workers, wait until the time is right, and hit them with your favourite one-liner.Then please report back with the results so we can all bask in the awesomeness.
