Easy Mango Salsa
We are huge salsa lovers at my house. We almost always have a batch of my restaurant style salsa or easy salsa verde in the fridge for snacking. Whenever we make this delicious mango salsa, it’s always a treat. My family can’t get enough!
We are huge Mexican food fans at our house and love chips and salsa. We especially enjoy this mango salsa recipe that combines a little heat with a little sweet! The addition of the mangoes gives it that nice sweet taste, while the jalapeno adds just the right kick.
This recipe is so simple…you basically just cut up and combine all of your ingredients and then allow the salsa to sit in the refrigerator for a while so that the flavors can all meld together – such goodness. You are then ready to grab those chips and start dipping away!
Ingredients
- Mangoes
- Red bell pepper
- Red onion
- Cilantro
- Jalapeno
- Lime juice
How to Make Mango Salsa
Chop. Before you get started, make sure your mango is ripe! It should be soft to squeeze and the color of the skin should be mostly red or yellow. You can also tell if it’s ripe by the stem – if there’s a yellow circle around it, then it’s ready to use. Then cut the mango into cubes and dice the others veggies as well.
Mix. Combine the diced mangoes, bell peppers, onion, cilantro and jalapeno in a medium sized bowl. Squeeze the lime juice on top and season with salt and pepper. Then stir the ingredients until combined.
Chill. Cover the bowl and place in the refrigerator to chill for at least 15 minutes prior to serving. This helps blend the flavors together. Then serve and enjoy!
Make Ahead + Storage
Because the flavors need time to marinate together before serving, you can definitely make this dish ahead of time. However I would recommend making it the day of serving for optimal freshness. You can prepare it a few hours in advance, or even that morning.
To store any leftovers, make sure to keep covered and store in an airtight container. It will keep in the fridge for up to 3 days.
